Lauri Angervo, cello and Alexander- Technique
Lauri Angervo started to play cello at the age of 8 at the Music Institute of Western Helsinki with Kari Lindstedt. Since 1987 his tutors include Arto Noras, Josef Swaab and Alexander Baillie. Angervo has studied in Sibelius Academy, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. Lauri appreciates e.g. Amadeus Quartet, Ari Angervo, Robert Cohen, Frans Helmersson, Janne Saksala, György Sebök and Mstislav Rostropovits for their guidance in music.
Lauri has worked as a solo cellist of Lapland Chamber Orchestra since 2004 and 2011-2012 he was invited as a cellist by Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra. He has been playing in Avanti!, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera, Oriol Ensemble (Berlin), Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt), Festival Orchestra of Helsinki and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie (Bremen).
Angervo teaches Alexander Technique in Finland and Germany.
